Purpose of Training
The purpose of this PTA training is to acquire the skills and expert knowledge required for working in public and hospital pharmacies. However, you may also take up positions in laboratories of research institutions or in the pharmaceutical industry.
The content of the training is regulated by the Training and Examination Ordinance for Pharmaceutical Technical Assistants and complies with the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs. As you will mainly be taught by lecturers who actually work in this field, you will definitely be familiar with current developments and actual requirements of your future profession.
Contents of Training
All theoretical and practical requirements of your later profession are considered in the content of the vocational school training. Particular importance is attached to understanding the medical-pharmacological, chemical and technological properties of pharmaceutical substances. Dealing with customers or patients and proper consultation practice will also play a major role in your training, just as the legal and statutory regulations that provide the basis for future work practices.
In practical classes, you will acquire the necessary skills to produce all kinds of dosage forms and to analyse various pharmaceutical substances. However, the practical part of this training will not only convey different manufacturing techniques, but also promote characteristics which are crucial for a future PTA, such as precision, reliability, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
State-of-the-art lecture rooms at short distances provide a pleasant learning environment with best conditions for a successful training.

Admission Requirements for International Applicants
- General school leaving certificate issued in your home country that can be recognized as a German Mittlerer Schulabschluss (intermediate school leaving certificate)
- Medical certificate confirming an adequate health condition for this profession (not older than 3 months)
- Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months)
- Certified copy of the identity card or passport
- German language skills on at least level B2 (certificate from Goethe Institute or Telc)
