Sino-German Partnership Reaches New Heights

Lishiu/China-Regenstauf: Comprehensive, strategic educational cooperation between Lishui Vocational & Technical College and Eckert Schools International

 

In February 2023, Lishui Vocational & Technical College and Eckert Schools International formalized a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. This partnership aims to provide Chinese participants with specialized qualifications as "German Industrial Master Craftsmen International" in the field of mechatronics technology, delivered at Lishui Vocational & Technical College.

Following further intensive preparatory work, the project was formally contracted in June 2024 and is set for rapid implementation beginning in August 2024.

Approximately 100 students from Lishui Vocational & Technical College are participating in the inaugural Sino-German cohort of this program. The curriculum is comprised of two key components: initial training to become skilled workers in mechatronics technology according to German standards, followed by advanced training to qualify as "German Industrial Master Craftsmen International."

During the project, Lishui Vocational &Technical College receives intensive support and supervision from the Eckert Schools International team.
In late August 2024, Mr. Döllinger, Head of the Department for Electrical and Mechatronic Engineering at the Dr. Eckert Academy, traveled to China to engage in an exchange of expertise with the faculty and leadership of Lishui Vocational & Technical College. The meetings centered on training skilled workers to meet German standards.
In September 2024, Ms. Lei, Senior Project Manager for International Affairs at Eckert Schools International, and Mr. Saule, Head of Vocational Training International, visited Lishui Vocational & Technical College as honored guests, too.

Fifteen teachers and administrators from Lishui Vocational & Technical College participated in the “Professional Trainer International” course, earning certification from the IHK Academy in Eastern Bavaria. During their two-week visit, Ms. Lei and Mr. Saule also concentrated on developing a comprehensive plan for implementing the "German Industrial Master Craftsman International" program at Lishui Vocational & Technical College.

Both sides commended the professional, goal-oriented, and highly collaborative atmosphere during the various workshops and working groups. It is especially encouraging that Lishui Vocational & Technical College will continue the project in September 2024 with a newly admitted second Sino-German class.
