Win-win for business and society: Eckert Schools International cooperate with Lishui Vocational and Technical College

In March 2023 Markus Johannes Zimmermann (Managing Director and Headmaster of Dr. Eckert Academy), Gerald Saule (Head of Vocational Training International) and Hua Lei (Senior Project Manager International) met online to seal their cooperation with the Lishui Vocational and Technical College. In an online conference both principals signed the "Memorandum of Understanding".

Globalization, digitization, Industry 4.0
Education is incredibly important for keeping pace with the latest developments of technology and science. In a modern world, knowledge is constantly expanding and education remains essential. Highly qualified specialists and managers with an up-to-date level of expertise can not only drive innovation, but also improve a country's competitiveness and economic growth.

Education in common
Both Eckert Schools International and Lishui Vocational and Technical College (Lishui, China) focus on practical and innovative education to consciously prepare students for the demands of the modern workplace and beyond. In Zhejiang Province, Lishui Vocational and Technical College is a showcase example of a digital campus. In total, there are now more than 8,800 regular full-time students and over 500 employees who prepare young talents for the future.

German Industry Master International
"I am convinced that our cooperation and the associated joint efforts will pay off for both the regional industry and our two schools," says Weixiang Liang (principal of Lishui Vocational and Technical College). By cooperating with the Dr. Eckert Academy in the fields of metal technology and electrical engineering, the principal from China relies on the quality of German educational standards. "By uniting international specialists in one project, we will be able to raise the level of business elementarily," Mr. Liang makes his forecast. In the future, the partner college intends to offer the qualification for the German Industry Master International at the campus in Lishui, too. The personal exchange as well as teacher training and the development of curricula and teaching materials are only a few steps towards the realization of the objective.

Far away - Yet so close

In an online conference both principals signed the "Memorandum of Understanding". "Although we are almost 8,000 kilometers apart, we are united by a particularly valuable vision: joining forces, sharing experiences and thus driving innovation and making an even greater contribution to improving the educational landscape," says Markus Johannes Zimmermann.
