Leadership Workshop for School Principals from China

Regenstauf/Guangdong: In November and December 2024, Eckert Schools International conducted a 3-week program for 25 principals from the province of Guangdong, China.

 

On Monday, November 25, Eckert Schools International welcomed 25 principals from various vocational colleges in Guangdong to Eckert Schools Campus in Regenstauf. 

This program was organized on the Chinese side by the School of Continuing Education at Guangdong Industry Polytechnic, on behalf of the Ministry of Education of Guangdong Province. The group of principals represented a wide range of specialist areas: engineering, medicine and pharmacy, hotel and tourism, as well as business administration and management. 

“In the past, we have already welcomed numerous training groups consisting of teachers and administrative staff from China to our campus. However, this concentration of school principals is something very special for us,” said Markus Johannes Zimmermann, CEO and principal of the Dr. Eckert Akademie, in his welcoming speech to the seminar participants. 

Eckert Schools International has developed a sophisticated and continuously optimized series of seminars on the topic of “Vocational Education in Germany,” which covers all facets of training and further education. 

The digitalization of school management, quality management systems in vocational schools, and the digital transformation of vocational training are the most important common challenges for school management worldwide. The guests from China intensively discussed these topics with Mr. Zimmermann, Mr. Rüdiger Eckert, Deputy Principal and Head of Examination Management, and Mr. Walter Stöhr, Principal of the Medical Vocational Schools. 

The participants were able to experience practical implementations firsthand by observing lessons in various departments of the Eckert Schools. They attended classes in areas such as the state-recognized technical school, the vocational school for pharmacy, and the commercial division of the Eckert Vocational Development Center. 

During their visit to the practice company, the guests had the opportunity to delve deeper into the concept of international networking and gain further insights into the German Practice Company Ring and PEN Worldwide (Practice Enterprise Network). 

In addition to the seminars and workshops, several highly interesting excursions enriched the program:

• IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) Academy Regensburg 
• Krones AG Training Center 
• Schneider Electric Sachsenwerk Ltd. 
• Christiani Competence Center in Landsberg am Lech 
• Campus of the Technical University of Munich in Garching 
• “BMW Welt” (BMW World) and the BMW Museum in Munich 

On the final evening of their stay at the Eckert Campus, the guests from China experienced German culture and the hospitality of the “Eckert Family” by attending the Eckert Group’s pre-Christmas reception in Regenstauf on December 12, 2024. This event was undoubtedly an unforgettable experience. 

At the closing ceremony, group leader Ms. Yao Wang, Vice Principal of the School of Continuing Education at Guangdong Industry Polytechnic, expressed her gratitude to Eckert Schools International. She stated: 

“The organization and support provided by Eckert Schools International during our stay in Germany were excellent. Over the past three weeks, we have learned and experienced so much. It has become clear to us how positively both dual vocational training and continuing vocational training impact the German economy. The friendship we have developed with the Eckert Schools goes far beyond the usual. We look forward to returning to Eckert Schools International for another training program next year.”
